Unlike conventional design workshop, “MECHA Suit Workshop 2006” is not merely a platform younger people to exhibit their exceptional creativity, workmanship and showmanship, but more importantly, it provides an opportunity for them to build close bonds with one another as they prepare for the Pass-Out-Parade, the Graduation Ceremony. This project aims to
· develop & groom local talents in MECHA Suit design & building
· create opportunities for learning and sharing between the youths
· achieve the world record holder title for MECHA Suit design & building
· first country in asia to hold a graduation parade for MECHA Suit
“MECHA Suit” Workshop 2006” aims to harness the creative talents of the youths as they team up to make an MECHA Suit with existing anime as reference or original self creation.
The Pass-Out-Parade in February will signify the end of the production workshop as the team(s) will present and showcase their MECHA Suit(s) in this “Graduation Ceremony”.
This project requires the participating teams to use their creativity to design and make MECHA Suits from scratch.
| Workshop Themes | Participating teams can select any one of the following themes for their MECHA Suit design: (1) Existing ANIME (2) Self Creation |
| Highlights that participant can expect from this project: | Power of observation, learning skills, physical stimulation, self expression, social interactive skills, confidence and conceptualizing Participants will get to explore and experiment with how which they will solve design & building difficulties while working towards the Graduation Ceremony (Pass-Out-Parade) at the end of the workshop. |
| Brief synopsis of outline of workshop: | During this workshop, teams will be taught how to;
The process of is broken down into its various parts and participant(s) learn by exploring and experimenting with these different aspects, equipping them with the necessary knowledge. Participant(s) will learn the essentials of a MECHA builder step by step, from choosing a subject matter, to exploring, exploring possibilities and structure and characterization. |
| Target Group | Interested individuals/ teams which want represent their various school/ Club/ Organization/ Company, Community Clubs (CCs) in the parade Targeting to achieve at least 18 completed MECHAs for the Graduation Ceremony (Pass-Out-Parade), which will be short-listed to appear in Chingay Parade 2007. The event aims to attract more than 2,000 audience for the Graduation Ceremony (Pass-Out-Parade), comprising · participants and supporters from schools, institutions, community clubs,and other organisations · sponsors · youth, families |
